To retire or not to retire - is that the real question?

As the first wave of baby boomers hit retirement age, their attitudes towards retirement are evolving. While many boomers still see retirement as a time to relax and pursue hobbies, others are embracing the opportunity to continue working, either part-time or in a new career.

We all know that some boomers are choosing to work longer because they need the income to support their lifestyle, while others simply enjoy the mental stimulation and social interaction that comes with a career. Many boomers are also recognizing that they have a wealth of knowledge and experience that can benefit their industry and are choosing to stay in the workforce to mentor younger colleagues.

However, not all boomers are eager to work longer. Some are ready to step back and enjoy a slower pace of life, while others may be forced into retirement due to health issues or layoffs.

It's time to redefine retirement.

It might even be time to eliminate the term, and even the concept, altogether!

What images come to your mind as you think about retirement?
