how to leave a lasting legacy - ride the waves of change

Surfer enjoying big waves

Are you the kind of person who…

-        Rides roller coasters, yelling “WooHoo!” the whole time?

-        Looks change in the face and says, “Bring it!”

-        Is allergic to the status quo?

If you are, you’ve got a terrific competency as a leader…

Resilience!

Resilience gives you the ability to ride the constant waves of change you’re faced with as an executive, business owner, or leader.

You’ve seen plenty of examples of this, especially after the beginning of COVID:

-        The companies and leaders you remember are the ones who were able to adapt, despite chaotic external circumstances, and still succeed

-        The ones stuck in their ways and who refused to change despite everything going on? They’re the leaders and companies that “drowned” because they tried to fight through the waves and weren’t able to keep up.

That’s why the ability to RIDE the waves of change joyfully—not just hang on desperately to survive—is so important in today’s world.

But it’s a muscle that needs constant exercise. (Think of it like actual, physical surfing.)

If we’ve learned anything in the past couple years…

It’s that that muscle is more important than ever.

Tell me about a time when you decided to RIDE, to go with the flow, and how that led to some great results!
